I had this mashup for some time on my idea list. And since that list was starting to grow a little too much it was time to workout some mashups in Ableton, starting with Leger And Lake VS. Real 2 Real.
One of the better Dutch female artists when it comes to singing talent is Trijntje Oosterhuis from Total Touch. Her I’ll say goodbye song made a great intro for the TMF Yearmix of 1998. The more up tempo song Touch me there is still played on the dance floor and the acapella is used in many mix tapes, live sets or mashups.
Oversoft has done another great mix with Ableton Live, using the Xone 4D in combination with an iTouch Midi Application on the IPhone for optimal control. This set-up has worked great in the past and also this time. Watch the video’s or download the mix.

Yesterday Oversoft and I had a try-out of something new. We created a setup with two laptops running Ableton Live 7, the Allen& Heath Xone 4D and a Pioneer DJM-600. The two laptops with Ableton Live 7 we’re linked together using the MIDI signal from the Xone 4D. It was the task of the Xone 4D to keep everything in Sync. The DJM-600 and Xone 4D were also linked like in a normal battle setup.

iDaft is a cool website, containing a sampler loaded with the vocal samples from Daft Punk.
Last Friday I was playing a game of pool with a good friend of mine. While I was loosing the game, I was listening to the background music when I heard Freestyler from the Bomfunk MC’s. When the track was followed by the Opposites, I directly grabbed my phone and noted down that I wanted to mashup these two songs. They just had to fit.
Another Robin S. based release was my first thought. However Space Drums – Show me drums is more a collection of 90’s samples.
The idea for the mashup was born yesterday while I was writing about Guitarra g. A quick try-out yesterday made me excited to workout the mashup idea in Ableton Live.
