Microsoft has announced already in the past that it was working on a new version of Windows 10 specially for Workstations. An interesting feature of this is the Workstation mode enhanced performance. This could further stabilize/enhance DPC Latency allowing even lower audio latency for interface cards.

Ableton Live 10 is released! As I have been using the Beta since it went public I expected to do an update and continue working like nothing really changed. However, the released version installs next to the Beta which makes sense, but doesn’t import any of the preferences :-( But there is a solution to this.

Fascinated by the Grandmixes and In The Mix shows from Ben Liebrand, as well as the Mixes from Martin Pieters it was just a matter of time for my own mix channel and concepts. After many years of live DJ-ing and use of Ableton Live in the studio and live, I’ve come up with a first concept for my Mix Channel at Mixcloud: The Dutch Top 40 mix in under 60 minutes.

Cool Kick Starter project: The Motion Synth

This morning I found an e-mail from Native Instruments announcing the new Machine Studio and hardware controller. I knew that Machine was transforming into more than just a groove box, and already had a lot of DAW features. What I did not know, or just overlooked on the big internet, was that they would come with this awesome hardware controller that looks to me of being spot on for the electronic music producer.

I love to use Ableton Live for loops and acapella snippets, all synced into a live set. With MIDI sync you can use the software with most DJ software like Traktor. Traktor got all kinds of new features over the last two years that cover a lot of the functionality from Ableton Live, so that sync has become less important and Serato has the Bridge. But like a lot of other DJs out there I prefer to use the Pioneer CDJ-2000 system. And that one doesn’t sync with Ableton Live…or does it?

Today I got a message from a colleague about printing your own records with a 3D Printer. The idea comes from Amanda and is really cool. Using today’s digital technology to create something from the analog era.
