Last Thursday I participated in the Pioneer DJ Contest at the Hollywood Music Hall. I had a pleasant evening and the opportunaty to see a lot of talented DJ’s show off their skills. An evening with differnt types of DJ’s from different levels.
A mashup with the huge rap hit Low from Flo Rida, that got a lot of success after the movie Step Up 2. During my vacation the track was played in every single bar the whole night long. Especially the “with the fur” is a catchy phrase.
A new mashup, but not from myself. This time it is the work of DJ/Producer and good friend OverSoft. During the production of a music mix that we were going to use under our vacation movie we spontaniously created the mashup: Robin S. VS. Steve Angello & Laidback Luke VS. Gelazer.

MusicMap is a web application that allows you to browse though music with an intiuitive graphical user interface.
Another mashup using the acapella of the month, this time from last month August. As container track I choose a bootleg remix from Jaydee with Plastic dreams.
By coincidence I stumbled on this movie at YouTube about Timbap. Timbap is a nice evolution of time coded vinyl. It makes sure that a DJ never needs to grab a keyboard, mouse or even a monitor when DJ-ing with a digital vinyl system.
On Thursday 18 of September I will compete in the Pioneer DJ/MC Contest at the Hollywood Music Hall in Rotterdam. Somewhere between 22:30 and 03:00 I will play a set of 20 minutes. I hope to post the results back here as soon as possible.
Una Mas had in 2001 a small succes with I will follow. Since I heared the track in a mashup mix from Ben Liebrand I completely started to love the acapella and use it whenever possible.
I’m back from my vacation in Sunny Portugal and loaded with fresh energy and inspiration. During my stay in Albufeira I had the Lucky chance to see both DJ Tiësto and David Guetta performing live. They played both on a sponsored event from a Portuguese mobile network operator.
