Since the start or my website I’ve been using Joomla as content management system. Especially the first years I’ve had a lot of fun with the system and it served me well. But due to limited time and also a lack of interest I got stuck at version 1.5. Switching to the most recent version wouldn’t be simple anymore, since I missed out on a lot of major updates. The performance of Joomla has always been a week point, although that might have changed while I was missing out on the latest updates.

Not only the Joomla system was outdated, the design could also use fresh and new inspiration.

I already registered a Twitter account a while ago to sage guard my DJ name but didn’t start actually using it. But I’ve taken the time to send my first tweets and also configure the integration with the website.

Since the new template, the website performance had increased already a little bit. However, the server performance was still poor and slowing the website down. Especially when it comes to the generation of the web pages, since actual download speed has always been good with speeds of 5 MB/s. But that has changed and the website performance has had a boost.

Last monday I already wrote about the recent increase of web traffic. Studying the logs I found out that there was a lot of traffic comming from Bee Mp3.

Last week I added a Tag Cloud to the site to make navigation of related articles easier. As I was checking some statistics a noticed that data traffic is starting to go rise and lately has gone sky high.

With the new share option you can share or add any page of my site to whatever social bookmarking service you are using.

I’ve added my Soundcloud DropBox to the website. At the bottom of the site, between my YouTube channel and Soundcloud channel is now my Soundcloud DropBox.

Since the website is growing in both visitors and content I’ve added a search form to the website.

With the new website there has also been a major change to the RSS feeds. In the past these where specific for a category and there was no total RSS feed for the entire website.

The website is running already for some time and the number of visitors is increasing every day. Recently I’ve seen spikes of over 150 visitors a day. So it was time for a new critical look at the lay-out and structure of the website.
